You better Belize it!
Belize has few inhabitants and a lot of unspoiled nature. 60% of the country is covered with tropical rainforest with many special plants and animals. The areas of rainforest and mangroves are together home to more than 5,000 different types of plants and hundreds of animal species. Here you can still encounter a jaguar, howler monkey, toucan or tapir.
Belize has an extremely rich history and culture. The population is an interesting mix of mainly Garifuna, Creole and Mayan cultures, among others. It is home to many ancient Mayan ruins nestled in the rainforest and countless other locations of striking beauty. And thanks to the lack of mass tourism, it is still possible to get a good impression of this rich history.
Belize is home to the second longest coral reef in the world, after the Great Barrier Reef. Incorporating many coral islands, the reef stretches along the coast for more than 143 miles. There are more than 100 types of coral and 500 species of fish. You can see everything underwater here - whale sharks, reef sharks, turtles, dolphins and even the occasional whale - all inhabitants of some of the finest and most beautiful corals lying in waters with an average temperature of 80°F.
